New Enrolments

We understand that starting school is a very big step. Therefore we aim to make the transition as smooth as possible for your child and whanau.

We encourage the parents of all new entrants to pre-enrol their child prior to their fifth birthday, where possible. To enrol you can come in to the school office or enrol online by clicking on the following link.

Parents you are invited to visit the school and new entrant classrooms with your child for four transition sessions before they officially start. This can be arranged by contacting the school office, who will liaise with the new entrant teachers and principal. A letter will then be sent home advising you of the times, dates and any important information.

As part of the transition process our new entrant teacher can also arrange for optional home visits or visit to their ECE provider prior to your child beginning school. The purpose of this visit is to introduce herself, to get to know each other and to discuss your aspirations for your child as they start their school journey. If you are interested in a one of these visits please let Mel in the office know and she will arrange this for you.

The new entrant classes actively seek opportunities to visit or host groups from the surrounding early childhood providers throughout the year. As part of the transition between early childhood and starting school all junior students engage in a daily learning through play sessions.

If you are looking to enrol or you have already enrolled your child in school to start at the beginning of next year our final school visits for the year are as follows. If you would like to attend pop into the office call or send us a message. We would love to see you.

You are welcome to accompany your child to the classroom for “school visits” before they officially start school. On your visit we ask if you could bring a small snack (i.e. a piece of fruit, crackers or a yoghurt), as we like our new entrants to have a brain break at 10.00 am.

NB- If your child is staying past 11.00 am for their school visit they will need to bring some morning tea.

Please don’t hesitate to ring the school on 06 2787709 if you have any queries.
